Our Training & Education Programs

Our training exceeds all state mandated training and most likely any other security companies requirements. SOS has spent over $100,000.00 on video, audio, written and seminar training to ensure our officer's gain all the knowledge necessary to compete in a changing world. New hire training begins with three days of on-site video tape instruction and review. All new hires are then given a battery of tests to examine their report writing, communication, general knowledge and common sense skills. Once the visual and mental basics of being a security officer are covered, additional post training is given to familiarize the officer with the specifics of his/her assignment.

When special detail is required on a job site, additional instruction will be given. Any officer who can not successfully comlete the required training for that job site will be transferred to another station within the facility. If the officer does not comprehend any station at a client facility, that officer will be tranferred from that client location and reassigned to a more fitting environment.

Our Basic Training Program Includes Video Instruction of the following: Introduction to Security; Human & Public Relations; Communications; Safety; Report Writing & Incidents; Legal Issues I & II; Fire Prevention & Control; Patrols & Rounds; and Emergency Situations.

Our Officer's Education Continues with Monthly Review of the Following: Public Relations; Avoiding Liability; Effective Crisis Intervention, Incident Scene Response; Officer Survival Tactics; Computer Security; Defense Against Weapons; Medical Emergencies; Handling Customer Complaints; Substance Abuse and many many more. SOS has a safety & security training library with over 300 video and audio tapes.

Finally, SOS offeres optional monthly training seminars on topics like: Workplace Violence (Recognition, Responsibility, Compliance and Record Keeping); Hazards in the Workplace (Placards, Detection, Evacuation); Natural Disasters (General 1st Responder, 1st Line of Defense, Emergency Shut Down & Evacuation)
